About me

Hi, I’m Laura and I’m a breast cancer survivor in my 30s.

I was diagnosed with localised stage 3, grade 3 breast cancer at the start of a global pandemic. There was no family history and the diagnosis came as a bit of a shock, to say the least. I received treatment from the NHS during the COVID-19 outbreak and have been “no evidence of disease” (NED) since May 2021.

To be incredibly blunt, I’d really not rather have had cancer. It was shit. 0 out of 5 stars. Do not recommend. However, being the person I am, I’ve taken as many postives as I can from the whole thing to make it bearable.

Aside from my cancer diagnosis, I’m a geek with a range of creative hobbies. I’m also a mum to a young child and partner to my soulmate. We live together in the UK.

I created this blog for several reasons:

  • As a cathartic process to reflect on my experiences
  • To help me in my ongoing recovery
  • To help others in their “cancer journey”
  • To share knowledge, ideas and links
  • Paying it forward from the help I received
  • Provide hope and support for others

If there’s something you’d like to see on here or a question, just ask.
